Elle contribue à l’avancement de causes multiples et déterminantes en Ontario français, dont l’éducation en langue française, la défense des droits des francophones, le leadership des femmes, la diversité sous toutes ses formes, l’intégration du personnel issu de l’immigration ainsi que l’essor et la pérennité des communautés francophones. Elle compte 12 000 membres répartis dans 333 écoles élémentaires, 15 pavillons intermédiaires, 110 écoles secondaires et 16 autres lieux de travail.

L’AEFO est aujourd’hui à la recherche d’une personne au poste de cadre en relations de travail qui agira à titre de lead dans les différents dossiers de litiges, ainsi que porte-parole lors du renouvellement de conventions collectives locales. En tant que véritable agent de changement, cette personne privilégiera une approche novatrice et concertée à l’égard des dossiers en cours tout en s’appuyant sur la jurisprudence. Elle agira comme partenaire stratégique puisqu’elle dispensera des conseils et des avis spécialisés en matière de relations de travail et de résolution de problèmes aux différents membres de l’équipe de l’AEFO, tout en tenant compte des principes d’équité, de diversité et d’inclusion. Elle contribuera ainsi à assurer, entre autres, une uniformité, une efficacité et une sensibilité accrue dans un processus de résolution aligné sur les valeurs de l’AEFO. À la défense et représentant les membres de l’AEFO, la personne au poste de cadre en relations de travail veillera en outre au respect des conventions collectives et des lois pertinentes.

L’AEFO est à la recherche d’une personne ayant d’excellentes connaissances en relations de travail, en particulier dans un environnement syndiqué du monde de l’éducation en Ontario. La personne au poste de cadre en relations de travail possède une vaste expérience en interprétation de clauses de conventions collectives ainsi qu’en gestion de dossiers de griefs et de processus d’arbitrage. Cette personne privilégie l’ouverture, l’inclusion, la collaboration, la consultation et la recherche de consensus. Elle est habituée à résoudre des problèmes, à jongler avec plusieurs dossiers à la fois tout en respectant les échéanciers. Communicatrice efficace et transparente, déterminée et douée pour la médiation et la facilitation, la personne titulaire est reconnue pour voir la situation dans son ensemble lorsqu’il s’agit d’examiner les défis tactiques à relever et l’attente de consensus. Elle est également reconnue pour sa capacité à comprendre les concepts d’équité, de diversité, d’inclusion et de réconciliation avec les peuples autochtones (EDII), et à les intégrer dans les pratiques de relations de travail. Position: The Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) is seeking a principled and experienced Manager, Negotiations to lead collective bargaining efforts and support strategic labour relations across multiple tables. This key leadership role ensures that negotiation processes are coordinated, member-driven, and aligned with the union’s commitment to fairness, consistency, and advocacy in the healthcare sector.

The Manager, Negotiations reports to the Director, Labour Relations North, and is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of collective bargaining activities, including mandate development, proposal coordination, and the implementation of agreements. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Manager supports frontline representation by overseeing the steward program, facilitating training, and driving local engagement initiatives.

Working closely with members, stewards, and internal stakeholders, the Manager plays a key role in developing and executing member engagement and advocacy strategies, ensuring meaningful involvement throughout the bargaining process. This includes designing communication and mobilization initiatives that strengthen workplace capacity, foster solidarity, and align with the union’s collective action goals.

The position also provides day-to-day supervision and guidance to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a supportive, collaborative, and accountable work environment. This includes coaching and mentoring staff to drive high performance, support professional development, and ensure alignment with organizational values and goals. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for resource allocation and workload management, balancing operational demands with strategic bargaining priorities.

What You Bring: The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and convey complex ideas in high-pressure environments. They possess strong conflict resolution capabilities and sound judgment, enabling them to build and maintain productive relationships. This role requires expertise in managing multiple bargaining tables, prioritizing competing demands, and translating strategic goals into actionable plans. Proficiency in resource allocation, budget management, and evidence-based decision-making is essential.

The successful candidate will also have a:

• University degree or diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a unionized environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of labour relations, collective bargaining, and grievance/arbitration procedures in unionized settings.
• Strong knowledge of employment and labour legislation, human rights law, and relevant legal frameworks within the public sector or broader industries.
• Familiarity with sector-specific issues and trends, including operations, labour market dynamics, and policy developments, considered an asset.

The organization negotiates three essential collective agreements, aligning the sector

with the Community Services Labour Relations Act. These agreements, covering

community living, Indigenous child and family, and general services, are crucial to the

livelihoods of many British Columbians.

With any change in leadership comes a time for renewal. Following the departure of a

long-serving leader, an exciting opportunity exists for a new Chief Executive Officer

(CEO). Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall

leadership and operational management of CSSEA in alignment with the association’s
